Spotlight On: Misha Parker

I'm Misha Parker.

I do Higher Self Drawings and Readings and my business is called Your Divine Self. How I came to do this work is really not a dream of mine. In fact I was told to this work in a most unusual way. In 1998 I was given a channeled reading. Channeling is done by people who allow divine beings to speak through them. They also have a specific criteria in that they allow only the Christ consciousness to come through. The message I received from my good friend Terry Hogan was very simple : "Misha get your chalks and paper and do people's higher self." I found that this simple message to be daunting and I doubted it. Even though I tried a couple of drawings I didn't believe I was doing anything that important.

One month later I had to receive the message again, this time it was more forceful:
"Misha, we are not happy that you are not doing people's Higher Self, please do this." I realized the seriousness of this message and began doing this work. It would have been much easier if the message had come with some kind of instructions but for some reason I was on my own and I did not question what a Higher Self was. At first I gave the drawings away without any explanation. Then I began to hear information when I did the drawings and decided I had better tell people what I heard. It was like having a private conversation with someone's Higher Self. Even though I still had doubt about what was coming through, the people who I did them for would react with amazement and even tears.

In the year 1999 I took a personal power training that helped me accept the totality of who I was and in 2000, I took a class at the local Junior College called Psychology 22 using the famous book The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron as the text. This class explored the length and depth of my creativity and I began to realize that my drawings and readings needed to become my business.

When I look back on this sequence of events it is hard to imagine that one simple message could change my life so much. I have always been an artist in many medium from sculpture to acrylics on canvas. I would work on my art in a small room and no one would see it. Now I sit with a person and change the way they think about themselves and to do this I must be in relationship. I also love variety and it was always difficult to settle on one medium. Each person I work with is different and unique and as the work unfolds before them we both have a revelatory experience. I learn so much about being in integrity, communication and truly serving in a very personal way not to mention the ones who come back year after year for an update so we can plot their spiritual growth.
